Luca's 3 year old well check up

Luca and I went to her doctor for a checkup-Dr Shih. He needed to sign some forms for Luca's school. He always greets her with a new book and Luca loves him. I love him too!! He comes in goes down to her level and asks Luca questions (that is for mommy) but only talks to her.
He then will change demeanor and speak to me about additional concerns.

We thank god that our baby is healthy and growing normally:) He did comment on her speech. He said that he understands 80% of her speech (she was telling him about her trip to Buffalo....) for her age group 50% is above average. He then said every mothers/teachers dream comment, "That the most significant factor of high intelligence is early speech development at an early age."
He asked Luca to draw a circle and she drew a perfect one without even pausing. He looked at me and said, "Wow, that's better than I was expecting!"

Thanks, Dr Shih! See you in a year:)

Goodbye Daycare....Hello School!!

It was VERY DIFFICULT and EMOTIONAL saying goodbye to our Nanny. Words can't describe how wonderful she has been. She loves Luca as much as we do and she has helped raise our little one, and for that we our truly grateful!
I made cupcakes for her and her family with flowers and a card to show her how much we appreciate her. Luca has been going to daycare full-time since she was 6 months, but is now ready for full-time school. I have enrolled her in a summer program that she will begin mid-August (3 days a week) and then she will start in the Fall full-time.

Yesterday and today, Luca woke up and asked if she was going to Auntie's and asked if I was going to work. I told her I don't have to work anymore, so I can spend time with her. She got real excited and said, "What do you want to do today?" and I replied, "Anything you want to do." So we went on a bike ride!! Can't wait to spend the summer with my daughter!!!

Luca and her Daddy

Luca is so lucky to have a daddy like you! You are so good to her (us) and we love you:)

Dinner with Papa

To end our great Father's Day we had dinner with Papa.

Luca's First Movie

For "Daddy's Day" we went to the movies in the afternoon. Luca did really great!! She was a little squirmy, but enjoyed herself.

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day morning starts with a breakfast at our favorite spot...

Luca helping daddy mow the lawn

This is taken from inside the house, but I couldn't resist.....so precious!

Quick visits with good friends before our trip.

We had a fun filled Saturday at our friend's house. The boys were playing music in the garage (sounded pretty good), while the girls were watching the kids climb trees and run around. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast! We decided to go out for dinner together and it ended a great day with good food.

This is a picture of Luca trying out the tap shoes that her friend, Vera, gave her.

The kids called this pose "the totem pole."

We are leaving in one week for our big summer trip, so I won't be updating the blog until my return-End of July.

I have a lot to do before we leave, so I won't be adding anything for a while. Leaving for Buffalo, NY and then off to NYC for Peter's 4oth Birthday, then back to Buffalo. It will be a trip filled with adventure that I look forward to sharing with everyone:)
Have a great summer!!!!
