Pumpkin Patch 2011

We met up with our good friends the Ortega's at a farm to choose our pumpkins. Well, it had a lot more than just pumpkins. We played games, visited the petting zoo, walked through a corn maze and took a ride on a tractor around the farm. It was really fun and the girls are adorable together. Can't wait to carve the pumpkins (coming soon).

This was Luca at the end I put her in the car and instantly she was out. Not for long...because we went to the Ortega's house for lunch and cupcakes. Later that night we met up with Papa and Luz for dinner.

Happy 1st Birthday Sydney!

Saturday was a busy day for the Artiga's. We had two birthday parties, one from 12-2 and the other one was 2-4. Luckily, they were both in Long Beach.

Sydney's was the first one.....enjoy:)

Papa's 70th Birthday Surprise!

On Saturday we celebrated my dad's 70th birthday at our home. We all got together and prepared one of the best meals for him. My brother and brother-in-law brought the main courses, baby back ribs (AMAZING!), tri tip and BBQ chicken (so good!). Also, even though my wife is not from my country, she prepared the best authentic Guatemalan dishes: rellenitos, tostadas and enchiladas (not mexican style, see the picture below for reference). For dessert, my sister-in-law made a delicious Tres Leches cake...yum! This weekend, we celebrated the importance of family and how much we mean to one another. We truly look forward to more days like this in the future. Happy Birthday Papa!
