Daddy's Birthday 2013

For Peter's birhday we surprised him at work with ballons and treats for his co-workers.  Then we had a delicious lunch as a family.  After work Papa wanted to have dinner.  A day full of good food and birthday wishes.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Pre-K Graduation Slumber Party

Luca has had many sleep overs with her cousins, so she was very eager to have a slumber party with 30 friends at her school.  It's a graduation party that they have and the kids get dropped off at 7 in their pajamas.  They eat pizza, ice cream, watch a movie and get popcorn.  They set up sleeping bags and in the morning they have donuts for breakfast.  She had so much fun and we are glad that she is getting independent and can sleep where she feels comfortable.  Mommy and daddy got a sitter for baby Lexa and met up with friends for dinner and drinks and made a night out.  Everyone had a good time and now Luca is ready to make new friends at her new school.  I have some playdates set up with her "old" friends, so I now we will keep in touch.

Pre-K Graduation 2013

I have to admit that I thought the ceremony was going to be silly and originally wasn't going to attend.  Peter and his dad were going and it is difficult for me to get a replacement teacher for what I teach.  At the last minute I got sub coverage and I surprised Luca when I was able to see her graduate from her school that she has attended the last 2 years.  It was precious and I am so glad I didn't miss it.  I took the whole day off and Luca and I went to lunch with Papa and spent the day together.  She also received her report cart and our tradition is that if she gets good grades that we take her to Chuck e Cheeses.  Her grades are OUTSTANDING and so we went there that night.  It was a great day and we are so proud of our little one.  Now she is off to the best elementary school in my District!  I was fortunate enough to choose ANY school I wanted for my daughter and after a lot of school visits and research I chose THE BEST!!!  Can't wait for her to contnue her education in the greatest school in the South Bay.   She is excited too!!

Lemonade Stand 2013

Luca asked to do a lemonade stand, so Saturday we decided to let her do one.  She was very excited and had a bell to advertise her lemonade.  She would call out..."Lemonade!!! 50 cents."

We had people driving by and stopping to buy some because she was so adorable.  For 50 cents they got an ice cold delicious, fresh lemonade and 2 home made chocolate chip cookies.  She made 25 dollars!!!  People thought she was so cute they would give her dollars.  The last two customers gave her all the money in their wallet and said that they had never seen anything so precious.  We were only out there a couple hours and Luca's friend from school was driving by.  They stopped and Danielle ended up staying for a playdate and they went swimming in the kiddy pool that had been warming up while we were selling the lemonade.  Another one of her friends, Presley stopped by to support the cause and they all went swimming.  It will be another happy memory for our daughter...and for us:)

Art

Just playing around on laundry day.

 Luca has an artistic sense that I believe are in her genetics.  My grandfather (dad's side) worked with wood and painted.  He could make anything with his hands, he also taught my dad everything about cars and my dad is also the most talented person I have met.  He built our house and every car we had growing up.  Everything he touched was fixed and he taught me to pay attention to detail.  He also taught me to be patient and to take my time.
Luca knows that mommy is an artist and she calls herself an artist too.  Lately she has been making sculptures.  She gets home from school and runs outside because she has to work on her sculpture.  I am a teacher and we get home at an early time, so she can have daylight outside and play.  She has made 5 sculptures that usually are up for about a week and then she will take it down and put up another one.  Every object that she places is carefully designed by her.  She gets very upset when sissy takes something off and she has to put it back immediately.
