The zoo has a beautiful picnic area where we celebrated Luca's birthday with lunch and

very special cupcakes that my wife made. She is by far the best at baking perfect special

occasion treats.

Luca's 3rd Birthday at the Zoo-Part I Preparation

We have been busy preparing for our Daughter's 3rd Birthday Party at the San Diego Zoo! All of our family is attending and Luca is so excited. Every morning she has reminded us that we are going for the past two weeks. We started a zoo countdown just so she would know when it will arrive.

We provided Luca with 5 choices for her Birthday celebration and she wanted to go to the zoo. San Diego Zoo here we come........

Luca's Italian heritage is obvious when she is around pasta.

This is a great shot of Luca with pasta in her eye. She is usually a very clean eater, but when we go to Vinces Restaurant she is so messy and we let her because she has so much fun.

I just love this picture of Luca's toys! I went in to clean up her room and noticed in her toy area this arrangement of various characters..Yo Gabba Gabba, Seseme Street and Toy Story all playing happily together. She put them together and then posed with them. Just adorable!

Luca's Birthday Comes Early!

One of Luca's gifts for her 3rd Birthday was a swing set for our backyard. It took 5 hours to assemble, but to see her face light up is worth every minute. With the help of her Nonna, she learned up-down-up-down and can swing herself with no help. Which makes it easier on the parents, we just sit back and relax as our daughter plays and plays and plays....she was on the swing for a half an hour straight and then finally "jumping" yes "jumping" off to see her Papa-coming for his weekly visit.Thanks Papa for Luca's Birthday gift! This gift will provide years of fun for your granddaughter and future granddaughter/grandson:)

Blueberry Cream Cheese Crumb Cake

Can you believe that this is made without using any white flour or sugar. All of my wifes and Luca's baking is gluten free, but you would never know it when you taste it! Yum, yum, yum...thanks girls:)
